Chef Yurika

Personal chef

Yurika is The Lighthouse Bali’s resident chef. She brings years of experience in professional kitchens, but for her, cooking has always been about more than just making good food. It’s one of the simplest ways to look after someone.

Her love of cooking started at home with her grandfather. He taught her that making food for the people you love is a way of caring for them. It’s something she’s carried with her ever since.

Before joining The Lighthouse, Yurika spent years working in some of Bali’s well-known restaurants and international cruise lines. She worked as a pasta cook at Massimo Restaurant for three years, followed by three years as a pasta specialist at Bali Garden Hotel. She then spent five years with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line and one year with Disney Cruise Line, working as Chef de Partie. Those years taught her how to stay consistent, work under pressure, and cook for people from all over the world.

What brought Yurika to The Lighthouse was the chance to use food for something that actually matters. Here, she takes the time to get to know each client: what they love, what comforts them, what their body needs, and builds their meals around that. She doesn’t believe healthy food should feel like a sacrifice. It should taste good and feel like something you’re genuinely looking forward to.

For Yurika, a meal is never just a meal. It’s a small way of saying, “Someone was thinking about you.” And that’s what she hopes every person feels when they sit down to eat something she’s made, the same feeling her grandfather gave her at his table growing up.
